:: It's time for new experiment ::

Today I've got a Denise Interchangeagle Needle Set from Numei.com. I am so excited to start new project. After thinking and thinking, I chose to make poncho for Plum. However, I decided not to make the house pattern from Downtown Yarns. I want something more challenge, but still easy to work on. Joanna's Poncho is the right one.
According to the pattern and yarn, I need to use US#10 double-pointed needles to start, but I have none. So, I use what I have which is US#9. We will see what it will look like.

It's about 5" before stretched.

Plum, super model, in her poncho.

I knitted to row 16 and figured out that my marker misplaced somewhere. So, I will start over the poncho. At least, I know that US#9 needle is fine and her head can pass the collar. Also, I've learned that this poncho has shoulder part, and I need to increase this part too. Because Plum is quite chubby and I want her to use this only one poncho for the whole winter.

:: Help! Help!

I finished my own scarf last night, but it doesn't look normal at the end. It is funny, weird, and wide. "My So Called Scarf" pattern is kind of tight while I did just bind off knitwise. Then, my bind off row is wider than any other row. I don't know if there is any way to bind off tightly or anything. Anyone, help me, please!!

See, it's funny!

yeah..yeah..!! My own so called scarf is done. Finally, I made the bind off row with US#10 needle. That helps! Thanks, Natt. Also, thank you Sara for a visit and your suggestion.

This is what I am working on. It's for myself. I am half way through it. This pattern is fun to knit, and I just like the colorway of the yarn. I will try to finish it this week, since there are many projects lining up. :-)

:: Don't cry, baby!!

It was 9/11 4 years ago, so we decided not to visit any tourist attraction. We stayed home all day and went to the park after Plum's afternoon nap. Pity Plum missed the first step of the slider at the park. She cried a lot then, but after a while she could eat a lot too. We had Japanese food at Teriyaki Boy again. Here is the wound.

Also, I went to Barnes and Noble book store to cheat on some copyrighted patterns. When I surfed internet, I found one easy interesting pattern from a book. So, I went there and note it down. Fortunately, I've got 3 patterns instead.

:: Welcome to mamamui's live journal ::

After exploring many knitters' blogs for a bit of time, they inspired me to create one for myself. Although mamamui's blog might not contain lots of knitting projects as it's so popular in U.S.A, I will try to update my activities as often as I can. Please check back everyday, to see what is going on and has happened with me and my family.

Adventure Bus!!

yeah..yeah!! Barney inspired us to make another toy for Plum. It's from Barney's Adventure Bus. Our project is a car from a (upside-down) microwave oven box. :-)

This smile is also an idea from one of Barney's VCDs. I made it a while ago, but Plum is not interested in it as much. It's better in the car, isn't it?

I haven't taken a picture of Plum in this funny-looking car yet. But I will.

:: Future Projects

Plum's poncho
Yarn:
Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky - M-10 Cream bought from Downtown Yarns
Lang Cleo - pink from Downtown Yarns
Wool of the Andes - Cherry Blossom from knitpicks.com

Pattern: Simple pattern from Downtown Yarns, NY

Plum's scarf
Yarn:
Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted - 105 Glenwood from PurlSoho, NY

Pattern: no desired pattern yet, and may change to other project.

My own bag
Yarn:
Yarnia Denim Cotton Worsted - Stonewash Blue from yarnia.com

Pattern:
At first, I knitted "my so called scarf pattern", but I don't like it to be in the bag. I might go with hipster in knitty.com or create a simple pattern.

Gift for Ping Pong
Yarn:
Wendy Velvet touch - red from Yarn Shop, ebay
red, black, and gold lurex seed novelty yarn from nice2cu, ebay

Pattern:
Hold 2 strands together and knit every row with 2 sizes of needles; US#11 and a big wood stick (approx. US#15) from a going out of business wood store.
But, I gotta change the pattern, because one ball of Plush is not enough. It's now 40". And the seller doesn't carry the yarn any more.

Another idea is to make short scarf like flora in knitty.com. I have to ask Ping Pong's again if she likes it.

Other projects in my mind:

  • Plum's Teddy Bear - bubby from knitty.com with Red Heart Grande Yarn - Linen
  • Airy Scarf from last-minute knitted gifts with Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud - Sand
  • My shawl with Berroco Plush - creama
  • Bae's and my hats and mittens with Knitpicks Sierra and clorful sock yarn
  • etc.
